Sometimes we have shifts in awareness leading to the desire to change, but the actual process of changing is more difficult than we thought it would be. One or some of the obstacles below may apply to you:

  • You’re confused about what you want – You have different areas of expertise, and different preferences and passions. You’re not satisfied with where you are, but you’re not clear on where you want to go.
  • You don’t have the confidence – Sometimes you’re clear on where you want to go and how to get there, but you don’t have the confidence to make the start or to take the risk. Those around you are more invested in protecting who you are now, and in shielding you against the loss of risk, than they are in encouraging and cheering you on to the next level. Sometimes risk entails loss; but despite how things may look at the time, this is never a bad thing. It’s just a stepping stone on a path that’s moving forward – a step without which, you might never develop the capabilities and character for the step above that! As my brother used to say, “You can swing and miss the ball, but if you never step up to the plate, you’ll never make a home run.” Sometimes you incur greater loss by not risking loss.
  • You don’t know how to get there – You may be clear on where you want to go, but unclear on where to start, how to gain the knowledge or training, or how to position yourself for success.
  • You don’t have the focus or the discipline – These can sometimes be two separate things. You may have the focus (thinking and strategizing on this new idea, path, or approach all the time!), but somehow can’t get yourself to dig in, start, and then keep going – step by step, milestone by milestone. Or you may have discipline, but it is scattered across too many projects. This may result in your being someone who is constantly busy and productive, but who rarely ever finishes things and who appears to others to be a jack of all trades, and master of none.
  • You rarely appeal to your inner guidance – For some people, this is God; for others, it’s an Inner Self or Power, or other type of Higher Power. However this may translate (and this will depend on a person’s background and beliefs), it is usually a matter of listening, or not listening, to your gut feelings – or forgetting that you even have that “gut feeling.”
  • You have simply changed – Sometimes success or happiness now, is not what it was before. When you struggled and succeeded, you were in a different place, and you’re not there anymore. The Winds of Change have brought about changes in you, and what made you happy and fulfilled before, simply does not make you happy now. This is why it is so important to have people around you who will take a neutral stance and let you grow into the person you feel guided to become. Often, people are invested in making sure you stay the same. This may create a form of security around them; but it may be detrimental to your own growth.

These reasons are precisely why people choose coaching to propel them forward! Hypnotherapy can be a life-changing experience that can often lead to clarity, shifts in awareness, enlightened thinking and approaches, and above all, tangible changes. As a certified life coach with training in success, career, and executive coaching, I offer life coaching between and after hypnotherapy sessions to support my clients in moving forward as a result of the changes that ensue from the sessions.
